Lessn gives you the option to write card payment entries to Xero, ensuring that transactions made with your business cards in Lessn are accurately recorded in your accounting system. When enabled, this feature syncs card payments directly with Xero, reducing manual data entry and keeping records aligned.
Why Enable Writing Card Entries to Xero?
When you pay bills using a card in Lessn, enabling this feature ensures that those payments are reflected as card transactions in Xero. This helps businesses that track expenses at a detailed level and need to match card transactions to their respective payment accounts in Xero.
If disabled, Lessn will still reconcile bill payments in Xero, but the card transactions themselves won’t be written separately. You will need to manually track card expenses outside of Lessn.
Enable or Disable Writing Card Entries to Xero
Go to Businesses, select the business you want to update and click Manage.
Navigate to the Xero tab and toggle the Card Entries setting on or off.
Once enabled, you will need to link each Lessn payment method to a corresponding payment method in Xero to ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
Link Payment Methods to Xero
Go to Businesses, select the business you want to update and click Manage.
Navigate to the Payment Methods tab.
For each payment method, select the corresponding Linked Xero card under the Linked Card in Xero dropdown.
This step ensures that when a payment is made in Lessn using a linked card, the transaction is recorded against the correct account in Xero.
Keeping Card Transactions Aligned with Xero
Enabling this feature ensures that all card transactions made in Lessn are reflected in Xero, reducing manual reconciliation work and keeping financial records accurate. If your business prefers to manage card transactions separately, you can disable this option at any time.
