Remove or Unlink a Payment Method from a Business

Updated over a month ago

In Lessn, you can unlink a payment method from a specific business if you no longer want that card to be used for payments under that entity. This gives you control over which cards are actively used for each business you manage.

You can only unlink a card if it’s not currently being used on any scheduled bills. If the card is still assigned to an upcoming payment, you’ll need to either wait for the payment to be processed or unschedule the bill and change its payment method before removing the card.

This is not the same as removing a payment method from your Lessn account entirely. If you want to delete a card from your account, follow the steps in our guide here.

Removing a card from a business simply unlinks it—it won’t delete the card from your account. The card will still be available to associate with other businesses if needed.

Unlink a Payment Method from a Business

Go to Businesses under Manage Lessn, find the business you want to update and click Manage.

Navigate to the Payment Methods tab. Find the card you want to unlink and click the trash icon next to the card to unlink it from the business.

Once removed, this card will no longer be used for payments under that business—unless it’s your default payment method, in which case Lessn may still use it unless another card is linked.

Manage Business-Level Payment Control

Unlinking payment methods ensures each business only uses the cards you’ve explicitly approved. This helps reduce confusion and gives you full control over where each payment comes from.
